CoGo - Company Carpool

CoGo is a Mobile APP Concept that can help reduce traffic and polution through cross-organizatorial carpooling

Cross-Organizational Cooperation

CoGo reduces the complexity of finding a carpooling partner. With emphasis on usability through supporting the flow of the daily routines without becoming a nuisance.

CoGo is a cross-organizational carpooling mobile application concept that facilitates carpooling for employees in businesses in close proximity geographically.

The concept won the first prize in the mobility track at the Open Data Challenge 2019 in Aarhus. The prize was 50.000 DKK and 3 months of mentoring for further development of the concept.

Emphasis on the end user

CoGo illustrates a very thorough design process, from research to concept. From our initial brainstorming and research, to our specification through several iterations, our most important goal was to put our skills to the test.

Motivation and inspiration was central, to achieve our goal - To change the status quo, the culture of driving to and from work alone, a deeply inherent part of the behaviour of the end-user.

Design through innovation

Over the course of 4 months, during the fall of 2019, we met minimum once per week, to ideate, brainstorm, research, prototype and develop the concept.

During this period, we attended several supplementary workshops, facilitated by Danish Technological Institute, a partner at the Open Data Challenge.

The team members behind CoGo all have a shared responsibility for the quality of the final product, and all design choices was made through democratic decisions.

For us, a key part in the developing process was that the interaction with the concept wouldn’t become an extra step in the everyday life of its users.

The final concept is developed in Adobe XD.

Responsible for communication

My official role in the team was as Team Leader. I formed the group initially, by contacting the different members individually and presenting and lead the during the first month of the project.

Furthermore, the role as Team Leader also meant that I was responsible for all communication between the team and the Open Data Challenge competition.

Finally, after the competition, I oversaw the facilitation of CoGo as a business start-up, with the communication related to this.

During the project I also worked on UI design, as well as facilitated several user testing workshops of the concept.

Finally, i co-developed our pitch for the finals of the competition and took part in the presentation.

The Team

We ended up being a team of four, consisting of 3 students and one full-time employee. All four members are related to the Digital Design study.
